Blogspot : add Button to print the post or download in pdf with PrintFriendly
Thanks to the service that I present in this article you can place a button at the bottom of the post on Blogger blogspot (and others) to give the user a chance to view a printable version without graphics and boundary element on the blog, but with PrintFriendly the result is a bit ‘cleaner and you can also download content directly to a pdf.
As always, it is always better to make a backup of the template of Blogger before starting to edit it, to go back if things did not go as expected.
– Generate button to PrintFriendly
Go directly to the page generation code of the button to this address, and in the window that appears choose Blogger and graphic style for the button you like.
In my case I chose the bottom right. E ‘can also select “text link, or use your own button, which helps those who are more casual with code HTML to choose the look of your link or button. If you are not among them, choose from one of six possibilities.
Once you select the button you like, will be presented under the code that you paste into your blog, to be copied into memory:
– This code, although designed for Blogger, needs some minor modifications to give their best. Then paste it somewhere (even Notepad), find this code:
href=”http://www.printfriendly.com”
and replace it with this:
expr:href=”data:post.url + "?pfstyle=wp"”
Caution: Be precise isolating the exact text to be replaced. If you do not do this operation, the button will not work in the single post page. Perhaps a distraction from the developers?
– Change the Blogger template
Now go change the code of our templates from Design -> Edit HTML. Look for this line of code:
<div class=’post-footer’>
If you can not find it, you should still be able to find something that starts with:
<div class=’post-footer<br /><br />Immediately below, paste the code that you copied (and edited) by PrintFriendly, save the template and you’re done:
– Button appears only in the pages of single post
To view the print button only in the single post page, the code must be enclosed between the two lines

The only drawback is that the service while waiting for the printing or converting to PDF to be ready for display advertising, but nothing particularly invasive:
