Usa : Kristine Lilly Adidas Predator Boots to Benefit Olympics
adidas announced the launch of 100 pairs of Limited Edition Kristine Lilly adidas Predator boots that will benefit The Special Olympics.
The shoe is designed by Lilly herself and she will debut them during competition at the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup in China next week. 100% of the proceeds from boot sales will benefit Special Olympics, helping people with intellectual disabilities develop self confidence, social skills and a sense of personal accomplishment through sports and training.
“The game of soccer has given me so much, so I wanted to give back,” explains US Women’s National Team captain, Kristine Lilly. “I’ve teamed up with adidas to create a limited edition Predator boot, with all the proceeds benefiting Special Olympics and their athletes.”
An Olympic Gold Medallist in 1996 and 2004, Lilly is nicknamed the world’s “Iron Woman.” She is the first and only player, male or female, to play in over 300 international games, and has earned over 324 caps, 121 goals, and 95 assists.
“Lilly is one of the greatest women to ever play soccer,” said Antonio Zea, adidas America Soccer Business Director. “With over 300 caps and her upcoming fifth World Cup Competition, we wanted to honor her and everything she brings to the sport of soccer.”
“In doing so, it was important to both of us that the proceeds of this limited edition Predator go towards helping Special Olympics athletes.”
The 100 pairs of limited edition boots are designed and inspired by Lilly. Personal touches include her motto, “Always Believe” and her number 13 embroidered on the tongue.
To commemorate her fifth World Cup appearance, she included the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup logo and September 10-30 2007 written on the bottom outsole of the boot. A US flag is embroidered on the heel to represent her pride in her team and country.
Lilly’s autograph is embroidered on the side of the left boot as her ’seal of approval’ on the design and calibre of the boot.
And in Lilly’s handwriting, the adidas Impossible Is Nothing mantra and her Impossible story can be discovered on the inside heel that reads, “100 caps for your country … impossible, 200 caps for your country, impossible, 300 caps and still counting, Impossible is Nothing, Always Believe.”
The Predator Absolute TRX FG W features award-winning revolutionary adidas Predator technologies. The exchangeable PowerPulse allows players to add power to every shot by redistributing the weight and mass of the boot to the forefoot to generate maximum power transfer as the foot hits the ball.
The TRAXION technology is a quick-change stud system which provides maximum ground penetration with minimal stud pressure for grip and comfort.

Young Frankenstein – Special Edition [VHS] $2.48 If you were to argue that Mel Brooks’s Young Frankenstein ranks among the top-ten funniest movies of all time, nobody could reasonably dispute the claim. Spoofing classic horror in the way that Brooks’s previous film Blazing Saddles sent up classic Westerns, the movie is both a loving tribute and a raucous, irreverent parody of Universal’s classic horror films Frankenstein (1931) and Bride of Fran… |

Patch Adams [VHS] $0.70 Patch Adams raises two schools of thought: There are those who are inspired by the true story of a troubled man who finds happiness in helping others–a man set on changing the world and who may well accomplish the task. And then there are those who feel manipulated by this feel-good story, who want to smack the young medical student every time he begins his silly antics. Staving off suicidal tho… |
